The City’s cemeteries are cared for by the Parks and Recreation Department. The Director of Parks and Recreation serves as the City’s sexton and oversees cemetery operations.
The City of Shawnee, Kansas became the owner and operator of the Pleasant View Cemetery on August 18, 2004. Three years later, on June 25, 2007 the City of Shawnee became the owner and operator of the Shawnee Cemetery.
